sophie + emmie handbags are here!

I'm excited to announce the launch of my new handbags for young girls, sophie + emmie handbags! What little girl doesn't like carrying her own little bag for all her trinkets?

I, myself, am a HUGE handbag person. I'd rather buy handbags than any other accessory when it comes to woman's fashion. I thought to myself "Wouldn't it be fun for all little girls out there to have their own fun, whimsical, durable, and practical handbag?" I know that when I go out with my kids, it drives me nuts when they say "Mama, can you hold...?" Enough with the crayons being in MY purse! Carry your own!

In addition to saving myself from having to carry a suitcase of my own to accomodate all my families "stuff", I always knew that I wanted a career. But I also knew that I wanted to be home with my kids when they were home. It sounded like working out of my house, being a designer of some sort, was the answer. But what was I going to do? After 5 years of asking myself this question, an idea popped into my head. My own daughter is getting to that age where she wants to imitate what I do. I'll catch her in my room trying on my high heels, putting on my makeup, wearing my jewelry. Even at 2 years old, she was interested in this stuff! And I knew that my toddler wasn't the only one out there! I started thinking to myself, wouldn't it be cute and fun if SHE had her own little purse of her own carry around? So, I started looking online and in stores for something unique and practical for her. To my avail I found nothing! All the ones I found were either cheesy looking, cheaply made, or were simply too boring in my opinion. That's when I thought, why don't I make her one myself!

So over the next few months I sketched, researched, and came up with some designs that I thought were potentials. Finally one really stuck! And that's when sophie + emmie handbags was created!
